Studios travel for all kinds of reasons. Some are headed to a national competition. Others want a week of training with choreographers they can’t bring in at home, or a stage their dancers have never performed on. The planning starts with a conversation about what you want out of the trip and when it could happen.
The Challenge:
A studio trip takes a lot of coordinating. Hotel blocks, buses, rooming lists, meals, and payments from every family all have to line up, and the competition or workshop schedule often arrives late and changes once it’s out. Younger and older dancers travel together, and their days often don’t look the same. Parents who come along need rooms, tickets, and answers of their own.
Your planner handles that side of it, shaping the days around your schedule as it firms up, working with families directly on enrollment and payments, and filling the open time with the parks, the shows, and anything else your group wants to see.

What a real dance trip looks like:
Here is how a four day New York trip can come to life.
Day 1
Dancers take class at a professional studio, then have free time in Times Square and the theater district. The group has dinner together before a Broadway show that evening.
Day 2
A backstage tour of a Broadway theater takes students behind the curtain, from the wings to the dressing rooms, to see how a professional production runs when the audience isn’t watching. The afternoon leaves time to explore the city or visit a spot like Lincoln Center. In the evening, the group takes their seats for their first Broadway show
Day 3
The group spends the morning shopping in SoHo and stops at Chelsea Market for lunch. The afternoon includes a walk on the High Line, with free time in the Village to finish the day.
Day 4
Final class ends with a short showcase of what dancers worked on during the week. The afternoon is open at Rockefeller Center and the observation decks, and the group has a farewell dinner that night.
The Experience
Dancers come home with corrections from a choreographer they had only seen online, a performance on a stage outside their own studio, and a week of watching professionals work up close. The newest ones return more confident. For dancers in their last season, it’s a final week with the people they’ve trained beside since they were small. Studio owners tell us the trip comes up in registration conversations the next fall.
Why Dance Travel For Studios and Teams Use ET Tours?
No two of our trips look quite the same, because we start with you. Tell us what you’re hoping your group takes away from it, and we’ll shape the trip around that, right down to the dates that work for your calendar.
The planner who quotes your trip stays with you through it. The same person who designs your proposal makes your revisions and can travel with your group on the road. You get one point of contact who knows your trip because they built it with you.
For families, that means a trip run by people who have done this for decades. We’ve been planning group travel for over 50 years, we’re accredited by SYTA, IATAN, ARC, and NTA, and every detail from transportation to accommodations is vetted before your group ever leaves. Our custom pricing is transparent, with no upsells and no surprises, and payment plans are available so cost never has to be the reason anyone stays home.
The Difference a Custom Trip Makes
With a packaged tour, you get a fixed schedule and it’s on you to make your group fit it. We’d rather do it the other way around, building the trip around your group so the schedule fits how they actually travel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQs
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend six months to a year for domestic trips. Summer dates and peak competition weekends fill earliest, since hotels near a venue book out well ahead. Shorter timelines are often possible, so contact us even if your dates are close.
What if our schedule changes after we book?
Performance times and workshop blocks are often published late and revised afterward, and we plan for it. Your planner reworks the daily itinerary as those details are confirmed. Revisions are included in your trip.
Can parents and siblings travel with the group?
Yes, and on studio trips they usually do. Families register through the same system as your dancers and are booked into their own rooms. We keep their itinerary aligned with the group so everyone follows the same schedule.
What happens if a dancer has to cancel?
Contact your planner as soon as a change comes up. Refund eligibility depends on your departure date and what has already been ticketed or confirmed. We review the options with you and confirm any costs before anything is finalized.
How are dancers supervised, especially at night?
Dancers travel with named tour managers alongside your studio’s own staff and chaperones. Room checks are conducted at a set time each night, and chaperones are housed on the same floor as dancers. A 24/7 emergency line reaches our team at any hour of the trip.
Whats included in the tour
Your quote lists exactly what is covered, typically transportation, accommodations, admissions, classes, and many meals. Because every trip is built to order, the full list of inclusions is confirmed before you enroll. Dancers need spending money only for souvenirs and personal purchases.
What about costumes, shoes, and dance bags?
Costumes and shoes travel with dancers rather than in checked luggage whenever possible. We plan transfers and coach space with performance gear in mind. Your planner confirms baggage details for your dates and carrier before departure.
I went on my first Educational Tours trip in 1996 and again in 1999 as a high school student. Because of the core memory I wanted to give this opportunity to the next generation. This last year I started up the history tour back in the local towns high school and contacted Todd and his team. And you can see they have many years of experience and connections. They were so easy to work with and the communication was amazing. They did so much work and made this trip a success. We are looking forward to doing it again!
Last weekend we took our choir to Tuacahn with Educational Tours and had the best experience! They took care of everything – payments, tickets, dinners, workshops, hotels — all for such a reasonable price. Our group had a flawless trip. We would definitely do it again!
